Outfit Ideas: Homecoming 2016

by Thursday, October 6, 2016
Everyone knows I love a good homecoming slay! When I was in high school, I refused to wear a dress to homecoming! Literally almost every girl will have on a dress. Why not break the rules and take a few risks this year for homecoming? Of course you have to obey the school dress code by not showing too much skin, and not showing up in denim and gym shoes, but when I say break the rules, I mean have fun with your fashion choices and don't go the traditional route. Below I have given you 3 outfit ideas to try for homecoming this year! hc2 Shorts can be dressy enough for homecoming! It all depends on the fabric of the shorts and how you dress them up! A pair of silk or satin shorts would be perfect for homecoming because for one, that fabric is definitely making a come back so you will be on trend, an for two, its a classic style! Pair your silk or satin shorts with a bodysuit that has a dramatic arm like the one above, detailed belt around the waist, simple gold plated choker, and a pair of lace-up/gladiator stilettos!  For hair and makeup, I would suggest you bring out your inner Naomi Campbell with a gold smokey eye and long, bone straight hair! hc3 You know what I would love to see more at homecomings? Jumpsuits! They don't require much dressing up, especially if you decide to go with a detailed one like the one above! Throw on a pair of ankle strap heels, a gold cuff on each wrist, and a simple clutch and you're on your way! A high ponytail or any type of up-do along with a jumpsuit is very appropriate because you want the outfit to do the talking! hc1 Now I know it seems like I am against dresses for homecoming, but I am really not! Dressing for homecoming or for any occasion, is all about feeling comfortable and confident! If you feel comfortable and confident in your dress, rock it! I have seen some girls in plain little black dresses for homecoming, and they look stunning because it fits them perfectly! But if you want to stand out, you can still rock a dress but try opting for a different color other than black, and of course dress it up like I did the one above! Try a gold bandage dress and pair it with a duster. Dusters are everywhere now and its the perfect accessory to set an outfit off! Why not try one for homecoming? I'm thinking long curls and side swept bang for this look and you're definitely in the best dressed category for sure in this outfit! Need help finding a duster? Try this Chiffon Duster.
