Stylist You Should Know: Chelsea Von Mach

by Tuesday, March 25, 2014
Our stylist of the day today is LA Based wardrobe stylist Chelsea Von Mach who has worked with notables in the fashion industry such as Rachel Zoe. Chelsea recently caught up with ambernicolestyle.com over her Christmas vacation back home in Michigan to talk about fashion and advice for aspiring stylists. photo 2 After haved lived in Los Angeles and New York City, Chelsea still believes there is more room to grow and be creative in Detroit. Having witnessed her creativity first hand, assisting her on a shoot for Mess Magazine with Aria Crescendo back on March 2nd in Venice, CA, I must say she is not only creative but talented. Her creativity allowed her to layer a skirt under a dress for one shot with Aria, giving it more flare and color for the cameras.   On her Spring trend predictions: “I see lots of feminine pieces being popular this spring and summer. Lots of lace & sheer fabrics with girly touches and soft color palettes---Almost like lingerie type pieces. “   On who she feels is easier to work with men vs. women: “I love styling women! It comes way more easily for me--maybe because I've been dressing myself for the past 26 years. Men are always difficult for me, because I personally love when men are dressed classic and timeless. “

Advice for aspiring stylists: “Get as much experience as you can. Assist, assist, intern, intern. Every stylist works differently and I found it helpful to work for a variety of people, rather than just sticking with one person. It is also so, so, so important to create good relationships with people in the industry for example designers, store owners, and dry cleaners. You never know when you're going to need a favor from someone.”   To keep up with Chelsea follow her instagram @chelseavonmach
