Demi Dorsey, fashion stylist and style board guru, is our "Stylist You Should Know" of the day! Based in Atlanta, this fashion maven definitely has an eye when it comes to creating looks. His creativity with style boards on his Instagram page made me draw a liking to him and I wanted to know more about him, his love for fashion, and his style inspiration. I recently spoke with Demi and he spoke briefly about his plans as a fashion stylist, and inspiration.

On his dream Client:

"Although I am open to working with any and everyone who is willing to work with me, it would be dope if I could work with a young, up and coming client who is building their image and trying to find a look that fits them and that he/she could call their own. If I had to narrow it down to one person at this moment it would be Lindsay Lohan. I would love to have a  GLAM 360 MOMENT with her revamp her entire look."
Demi is known on Instagram for giving funky, creative titles to his style boards. Yes, he names his work.

On coming up with the creative titles for his style boards:

"The titles of the post usually come at the last minute after I make the style board. Once the board is complete, I look at the outfit and I either name it after whats on the board or what song the look reminds me of, or what song I was listening to while creating it. For "Neon Bambi" it consisted of Valentino Rockstud Heels which were in a bright neon hue and an Givenchy clutch featuring a bambi graphic. "Rosie Cheeks" was named simply because the skirt that was used was a red pvc-latex skirt by Oscar De La Renta. For "Sweet Blossom" the sweet aspect came from the use of pastels in the Christopher Kane sweater, the Mary Katrantzou skirt, the Jimmy Choo heels, and also the ice cream earrings by Melody Ehsani. The blossom aspect came from the floral embroidery on the Christopher Kane sweatshirt."
Here are a few examples of Demi's work:
blueyellow coverup-1
"Blue Canary"
"My favorite color is yellow and when I spotted this Chloe coat, I knew I wanted to use it immediately. I wanted to keep it colorful so I kept the shirt, the En Noir leather pants, the Givenchy and the Christian Loboutin heels in the same blue color. The Givenchy graphic pattern on the clutch was the perfect accent for this outfit.
denim supplier-1
"Denim Supplier"
"Its Denim On Denim. One of my real life go to looks. It's simple, plain, and can be dressed up or dressed down.I wanted the main focus of this outfit to be on the details in the accessories. The denim Balmain chain belt, the Fleet Ilya visor, Givenchy gold  panther chain necklace, the Ambush eye ring, and tom ford nude heel all stood out."

"Modern Knight"
"I want to see this look on someone to tell if it is as dope as I imagined it to be in my head. It features a chain metal cropped top from Wes Gordon, high waist harem Pants by Balmain, Givenchy white sandals and simplistic mixed metal jewelry to accent the chain metal."

On who he thinks is a fashion icon today:

"Rihanna is the epitome of what a fashion icon is to me. Shes a trend-starter in the wardrobe and hair department. She's not a bandwagon hopper. She likes to be the one driving the bandwagon and I totally respect her for that. Not to mention the fact that's shes very versatile in her looks, demonstrating what I think a fashion icon should be. She can give you a street wear look around breakfast and slay in a couture gown by lunch (laughs)."
Demi is currently working with the all girl group "Sincerely XO" and with his fashionable eye and creativity, I am sure they will soon be fashion icons as well! To keep up with Demi, follow him on instagram at @demidorsey
