Our first ever “Cool Fashion Designers” segment is starting today with Los Angeles based designer and stylist, Rashante Lee. Rashante chatted with ambernicolestyle.com recently to discuss her fashion line, ReSeL, fashion trends and great places to shop in LA.

Inspired by 1950’s old fashion, island wear, and also African culture, her line ranges from tribal print dresses and pants, leather skirts and harem pants, and also ruffled tops.

One of my favorite pieces from her collection, the red leather pleated skirt. A good closet staple that you can dress up with a blouse and pump or dress down with a crop top and wedge sneaker.

ANS: What do you think every man and woman should have as a closet staple?
